| The Leonard
Cheshire Foundation is the leading charity provider of care and
support to people with physical and learning disabilities, both
in the UK, and in more than 50 countries around the world, covering
more than 11,000 people with disabilities. It works in partnership
with people with a wider range of disabilities than any other charity.
For more than 50 years its services have enabled people with disabilities
to lead more fulfilling lives.
Leonard Cheshire is committed to developing
new ways of creating opportunities for disabled people to allow
them to gain greater independence and self-determination. It helps
people gain access to education and employment. Leonard Cheshire
Workability is a flagship project that addresses the issue of young
disabled people and their exclusion from the UK workforce. By providing
10,000 young disabled people across the UK with training and a free
computer, the technology to enable them to compete for jobs, Leonard
Cheshire hopes to help young disabled people to overcome the barriers
they may face in entering into, or retaining, work.
