On the 17th of January our Senior Design Strategist, Jennie Winhall, will be speaking at the Swedish Energy Council's Energy, IT and Design Conference in Eskilstuna, Sweden. Jennie will talk about design as a means to address social and economic issues using the Future Currents project as a case study. The conference is a collaboration with the Power Unit of the Interactive Institute Sweden (TII) who we have mentioned before on this blog with reference to their Static project. If you are interested in further details for the conference best to email the conference secretary, Lars, who should be able to give details.
The Swedish Energy Agency together with Mälardalen university and Interactive institute Power is arranging a new conference within the area of Energy, IT and Design on January 17th and 18th 2006.
The conference will focus on topics and questions concerning solutions based on IT and design within the field of technology, economy and politics. It also considers questions and knowledge of end user behaviour in order to support producers as well as consumers while making conscious decisions concerning their energy consumption. Design is a very important element when modelling new products or systems and it also contributes to create models for a more sustainable society.
